The Prudent foundation, after discussing my interest in environmental architecture with me, managed to secure an internship with a world-renowned architecture firm, with its head office right in Kathmandu. After an introduction facilitated by Udgam and Shaguni I was warmly welcomed by the firm’s head architect and was given tours of several past and present construction projects that they designed, in addition to ample interview and discussion time in their offices. It was a truly wonderful experience, and has given me a new level of understanding both on the field of architecture as a whole, and of the unique challenges that architects face working in Nepal, which is exactly what my goals were for my time here.
