“While I was in Kathmandu, I interned, in my placement by the Prudent Education Foundation, at Shtrii Shakti, a women’s empowerment NGO. As a person who has become very interested in gender issues over the last few years, the placement proved absolutely perfect. I assisted in the writing of speeches and reports, and, most importantly, I learned about the state of gender equality here in Nepal and attempts being made towards increasing equality. The people I worked with were incredible influences to me, and many I hope will remain life-long friends. Thanks to the Prudent Foundation, I was able to spend my summer working with an organization that directly relates to my values, and even more importantly, I was able to put my values into action.”
